Cow Creek is a moderate out-and-back hike in Idaho's Payette National Forest, within the Weiser Ranger District. The trail is about 4.9 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 2,926 feet, and it starts at roughly 7,217 feet, rising to a high point of 7,261 feet before returning to the same level. The steepest stretch comes at about 1.8 miles in, where the grade reaches 37 percent. The route is on natural surface, and it is open to both horses and bikes. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is open year-round. Plan for about three hours on foot. The Calamity Creek and Weiser/Council Boundary Trail hikes both sit about 0.1 mile away, and Goodrich Creek is about 1.2 miles off. For an overnight stay, Buck Park Cabin is about 4.5 miles away.
