Cache Creek is a hard hike in Idaho's Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness, on the Middle Fork Ranger District of the Salmon-Challis National Forest. The trail is an out-and-back that climbs from about 4,193 feet to 8,850 feet, a total gain of 4,655 feet over roughly 14.4 miles. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is natural-surfaced and open year-round. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. The trail is a long, steep climb, so plan for a full day and bring supplies for the high point. Cow Creek and the Middle Fork Trail both start within half a mile, and White Creek and Loon Creek are a few miles away.
