The Small Wall is a climbing area in north Georgia, set within the Chattooga River Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests and on the Lake Russell Wildlife Management Area. The State Department of Natural Resources manages the land. The area is a cluster of climbing spots, with several named areas within about a tenth of a mile, including Boulders, Slab Area and Below the Main Face. The Buzzard Wall is also close by. The routes here are all trad, and they range from 5.6 to 5.11a. Arch Crack is the easiest, and Baby Face is the hardest. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Toccoa show October highs around 74°F with lows near 51°F, and April is similar at about 73°F and 49°F. That station sits roughly 500 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures on the rock run a little cooler. Lake Russell Campground is about 7.5 miles away for an overnight stay.
