Mount Yonah is a climbing area in northern Georgia, set within the Chattooga River Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests. The Forest Service manages the land, and the surrounding district holds several other climbing areas and trails within a short drive. The climbing here runs mostly on traditional routes, with one boulder problem. OpenBeta lists 10 routes, and they grade from about 5.7 to 5.11- on the YDS scale. The Guardian and States of Mind sit at 5.8, and the Crack at 5.11- is the hardest. The Seep, a 5.9 route, was first climbed in March 2021. The Mid-Trail Boulders sit just 0.1 mile away for bouldering. For the most comfortable conditions, late spring and early fall stand out. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 74°F and September highs around 76°F, with September seeing the fewest wet days of the year. That station sits well below the mountain, so temperatures on the climb run cooler. Hanging Garden and Main Face are both about 0.1 mile away. The Chunanee Falls Trail lies roughly 2.7 miles off, and Dukes Creek offers river fishing about 3 miles away.
