The Slab Area is a climbing area in the Chattooga River Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests, within the Lake Russell Wildlife Management Area in north Georgia. It is managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Toccoa show October highs around 74°F with lows near 51°F and only about eight wet days, while July highs climb to about 89°F. The surrounding area has several climbing spots within about a tenth of a mile, including Buzzard Wall, Small Wall and Brick Wall. For time off the rock, the Leatherwood Creek Loop hike is about a mile away. Lake Russell Campground lies roughly 7.5 miles from the area.
