The Buzzard Wall is a climbing area in north Georgia, set within the Chattooga River Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests and on the Lake Russell Wildlife Management Area. The State Department of Natural Resources manages the land. The area is a cluster of climbing spots, with several named areas within a tenth of a mile, including Slab Area, Brick Wall and The Small Wall. The routes here run from about 5.7 to 5.11d, with trad and sport styles, and the hardest is Super Smooth at 5.11d. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Toccoa show October highs around 74°F with lows near 51°F, and April is similar at about 73°F by day and 49°F at night. That station sits roughly 500 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures on the rock run a little cooler. Lake Russell Campground is about 7.6 miles away for an overnight stay.
