Turkey Trail is a short, easy out-and-back hike on the Lula Lake Land Trust Site in Georgia, managed by a non-governmental organization. The trail is about 0.8 miles long and rises roughly 190 feet from its low point of 1,395 feet to a high of 1,707 feet. The climb is steepest near the start, with a 30% grade at about 0.3 miles, and the total round-trip gain is about 520 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show October highs around 67°F with lows near 51°F, and April highs around 68°F. That station sits about 400 feet higher than the trail, so temperatures on the trail run a little warmer. The hike takes about an hour. South Creek and Homestead Trail both start within a third of a mile, and Middle Trail is about 0.4 miles away. Chattanooga Creek, a paddling route, is about 1.6 miles off.
