Homestead Trail is a short, easy out-and-back hike on the Lula Lake Land Trust Site in Georgia, managed by a non-governmental organization. The trail is about 0.9 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 109 feet, and it reaches a high point of 1,484 feet. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 0.34 miles in, and the trail is best suited to a half-day outing. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show October highs around 73°F with lows near 51°F, and April is similar at about 73°F by day and 49°F at night. That station sits roughly 700 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. Several other trails start close by, including South Creek and Middle Trail, each about 0.1 mile away. Chattanooga Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 1.9 miles off, and Rock City, a climbing area, is about 4.1 miles away.
