Bare Hare Trail is a hard hike in the Blue Ridge Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests in northern Georgia, managed by the Forest Service. The route is about 8 miles long, with a total gain of about 2,000 feet, and it rises from around 1,900 feet to nearly 2,700 feet before returning. The steepest stretch comes around the 2.5-mile mark, where the grade reaches about 18 percent. Bikes and horses are both allowed, and the trail's natural surface makes it a flexible choice for different kinds of outings. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Blairsville run to highs around 69°F in April and 70°F in October, while July highs average about 85°F. The closest neighbors are the nearest town and the surrounding area.
