The Hideout is a bouldering area in Connecticut, about a mile from the town of Higganum. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Molar Rock just 0.1 mile away and Split Boulder about 0.8 mile off. The area is all bouldering, with six routes ranging from V0-1 to V4-5, so it works well for a short session of cragging close to town. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Meriden run from highs around 70°F in May to about 75°F in September, with July the warmest at about 84°F. The routes here are all boulders, and the grade range is V0-1 to V4-5. Moe Green Special is the easiest at V0-1, and Tralfamadore is the hardest at V4-5. Pocket Problem and Speakeasy are both V3.
