Foster Pond Area is a bouldering area in Connecticut, about 1.2 miles from the town of Killingworth. It sits among several other climbing spots, including the Blue Trail South (UFO) and the Grey Matter Area, both about 0.1 mile away, and the Chatfield Weather Caves, also about 0.1 mile away. The area is a cluster of boulder problems, with seven routes listed, all rated from V0 to V6 on the V scale. The climbing here is all bouldering, and the grades range from the easiest V0 to the hardest V6. Among the named routes are Pookie Pitch at V0, Rock Spears at V1-2, and Ski-bum Cowboy at V6. The median grade is V3, so climbers can find problems at a range of skill levels within a short distance of each other. For a change from the rocks, the Chimney Trail and Deep Woods Trail are both within half a mile. Paddlers can head to the Hammonasset River, about 2.7 miles away, or the Coginchaug River, about 9.2 miles away.
