Scovill Northern Loop is a 1-mile loop hike in Connecticut, about 1.5 miles from the town of Maromas. The trail rises from a low point of 17 feet to a high of 94 feet, with a total elevation gain of 82 feet, and it is rated easy. The route makes a short, low-impact outing. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 0.38 miles, where the grade reaches 7 percent. The loop is close to two other trails: Quary View High Trail and Scovill Southern Loop, each about 0.1 mile away. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 75°F. July is the warmest month, with highs near 84°F. Hillside Boulders is a climbing area about a mile away. Higganum Creek offers canoeing roughly 2 miles off, and Shepherd's Nine campground sits about 4 miles away.
