Green Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut's Birge Pond & The Hoppers Area, on city land about half a mile long. It rises from 575 feet to 609 feet, with a total gain of 90 feet, and the steepest stretch comes about a quarter of the way in at a 10% grade. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Burlington show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 75°F, while July averages about 84°F and January highs sit near 36°F. The trail makes an easy pairing with other short routes in the area. The Orange Trail starts about 0.1 mile away, the Blue Trail about 0.2 mile, and the Yellow Trail about 0.3 mile. Climbers can head to Petro Cliffs, roughly 2.9 miles off.
