Breakneck Pond View Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 1.7 miles from the town of Mashapaug. The trail is a point-to-point route of roughly a third of a mile, with no elevation gain, so it works well as a quick stop or a way to stretch your legs before or after another outing. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 69°F and September highs around 72°F, with July the warmest month at about 81°F. The White Trail and Breakneck Hill Road sit about 0.1 mile away, and Bigelow Hollow Park Trail is about half a mile off. Paddlers can reach the Quinebaug River, about 4.3 miles away.
