Pegasus is a cross-country ski route in the Dillon Ranger District of Colorado's White River National Forest, about half a mile from the start. The trail is short, covering roughly 0.5 miles, and the climb is gentle, with a total gain of 64 feet and a loss of 76 feet over the course. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.24 miles in, with a grade of about 4 percent. Winter is the natural season for this route. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Dillon show January highs around 31°F with lows near 1°F, while June runs warmer at about 69°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the route, so temperatures on the trail run slightly cooler. The Swan River, a canoeing spot, is about 1.3 miles away, and Peak One Campground is about 5 miles away.
