Buffalo Flats is a short, easy cross-country ski route in the Dillon Ranger District of Colorado's White River National Forest, about 0.4 miles long and rising just 22 feet from its starting point. The trail is a low-elevation outing, with the high point at 9,322 feet and the low at 9,290 feet, and it is rated easy. Winter is the natural season for this route. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Dillon show January highs around 31°F with lows near 1°F, while June and July run in the upper 60s to mid 70s. The station sits about 260 feet lower than the route, so temperatures on the flats run slightly cooler. Several other ski routes lie close by.
