Double Pole is a cross-country ski route in Colorado, about 2.3 miles from the town of Maryvale. The route is short and easy, covering roughly 1.5 miles with a one-way elevation gain of about 67 feet. The climb is gentle overall, but the steepest stretch comes at about 1.1 miles in, where the grade reaches 16%. Winter is the natural season for skiing here. Typical averages from the nearby Fraser weather station show January highs around 31°F with lows near -1°F, while June and July run in the low to mid 70s. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the route, so temperatures on the ski trail run slightly cooler. Wesley and Chambers are both cross-country ski routes within a third of a mile. For paddling, Ranch Creek is about 1.4 miles away and the Fraser River about 2.8 miles. Idlewild Campground, about 4 miles off, offers a place to stay.
