Idlewild Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Sulphur Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests in Colorado. It sits within the national forest's boundaries, and the land is managed by the Forest Service. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically June through September. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Fraser, at a similar elevation, show July highs around 77°F with lows near 38°F, while winter highs stay around 31°F with lows dipping to about -1°F. The campground makes a convenient base for exploring the surrounding area. The Fraser River and Lower Cherokee mountain biking trails are both within a third of a mile. Climbers can head to Vasquez Road, about 1.5 miles away, and Midland Group Campground is about 3.2 miles off.
