Ute - Deep is a hard hike in Colorado's White River National Forest, within the Eagle Ranger District. The trail is an out-and-back of about 17 miles, with a total elevation gain of 2,818 feet. It starts and ends at the Sweetwater Lake Trailhead, which sits about 0.1 mile from Sweetwater Lake Recreation Area. The route rises from a low point of about 7,721 feet to a high of about 10,922 feet. Horses are allowed, and the trail surface is natural. Bikes are not. The trail is open year-round, and the Sweetwater Lake Trailhead is the parking point. Sweetwater Lake Recreation Area is right next door, and the Ute-Sweetwater Trail and Sweetwater Nature are both about 0.2 mile away. Deep Lake Campground is about 8 miles off.
