Roberts is a hard hike in the Eagle Ranger District of White River National Forest in Colorado, about 6.6 miles long with a one-way elevation gain of 1,182 feet. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and is rated hard, so plan for a steady climb over natural ground. The route is an out-and-back, starting at a low point of about 9,341 feet and reaching a high of about 10,083 feet. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. That makes it a good fit for riders on horseback or on foot. Several other trails sit within a couple of miles, including Derby Ridge, Middle Derby and Bear Park. For an overnight stay, Cold Springs Campground is about 7.9 miles away.
