Devils Thumb Bypass is an easy, 2.7-mile out-and-back hike in the Boulder Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises about 346 feet from a low point of 9,432 feet to a high of 9,781 feet, and its natural surface makes it a straightforward walk for anyone heading out on foot or horseback. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at a similar elevation show July highs around 68°F with lows near 43°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. The Devils Thumb hike and the King Lake mountain biking trail both sit about 0.2 miles away. Eldora, a climbing area, is 0.6 miles off, and Rainbow Lakes Campground is about 4.6 miles away.
