Burnout Loop is a 3.2-mile out-and-back hike in the Sulphur Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is rated moderate, with a total elevation gain of about 250 feet, and it sits at roughly 8,866 feet at its lowest point, rising to about 9,105 feet at the top. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Fraser weather station, which sits about 545 feet lower, show July highs around 77°F with lows near 38°F, while winter highs stay around 31°F. The trail is on natural surface and allows horses. Idlewild Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Idlewild mountain biking route is about 0.2 mile off.
