Boulder Creek Trail is a hard hike of about 6.3 miles in the Dillon Ranger District of White River National Forest in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back with a one-way climb of about 1,000 feet, from a low point of roughly 9,400 feet to a high of about 10,000 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Dillon put July highs around 75°F with lows near 38°F, and the station sits about 1,000 feet below the trail, so temperatures on the route run cooler. The trail is on natural surface and allows horses. Bikes are not permitted. Pebble Creek, a mountain biking area, and Harrigan Creek, a hike, are both within a mile. Blue River Campground is about 2.5 miles away, and the Gore Mountain Range climbing area is about 5.7 miles off.
