Arapaho Pass is a hard hike in Colorado's Indian Peaks Wilderness, within the Boulder Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. The route is an out-and-back of about 6.4 miles, with a one-way elevation gain of 1,992 feet, taking you from a low point of about 10,130 feet to a high point of about 11,905 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced and open to horses. The pass sits in designated wilderness, and the trail is part of the national forest system. The Fourth of July Trailhead is the parking for the route, and the open season runs from June 1 to October 31. Diamond Lake Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and Old Baldy is about 0.8 mile off. Apache Peak, a climbing area, is roughly 3.8 miles away, and Rainbow Lakes Campground is about 4.1 miles away.
