Wilderness Campsite 1 is a Forest Service campground in the Mount Sneffels Wilderness, within the Ouray Ranger District of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests in Colorado. It sits deep in designated wilderness, and the surrounding land is managed by the Forest Service. The site itself is a base for backcountry camping in the wilderness, and there is no fee to camp here. Its location puts it close to two climbing areas, Citradelica Rock and Flowsnake Rock, each about 0.1 mile away, which makes it an easy pairing for climbers. Nearby, the Blue Lakes hike lies about 1.2 miles off, and Mill Creek Basin Backcountry Camp is roughly 1.5 miles away for another backcountry camping option. For a longer outing, the Cirque Mountain hike is about 1.8 miles from the site.
