Sleeping Elephant Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Canyon Lakes Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests in Colorado. It sits within the national forest's ranger district, and the land is managed by the Forest Service. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at about 7,700 feet show July highs around 78°F with lows near 47°F, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s. The campground makes a good base for exploring the surrounding area. Moose Crag, a climbing area, is less than a mile away, and Diamond Boulder and The Hideaway are both within about a mile and a half. Big Bend Campground is about 3 miles off.
