Big South Campground is a small Forest Service site in the Canyon Lakes Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests in Colorado, about 3 miles from Spencer Heights. It sits next to Highway 14 and the Cache La Poudre River, close to the Big South Trailhead. The campground has four sites, each with a picnic table and fire ring, and is best suited for tent or small RV camping. Vault toilets are the only facility on site. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 78°F with lows near 47°F, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s. The Big South hike starts less than a mile away, and the Horizon Wall and West Side Crags climbing areas are each about a mile off. Aspen Glen Campground is roughly a mile away.
