Rabbit Ears Pass Camp is a Forest Service campground in the Hahns Peak-Bears Ears Ranger District of the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest in Colorado. It sits within the national forest's ranger district, and the Forest Service manages the land. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Spicer, which sits about 1,200 feet lower, show July highs around 77°F with lows near 42°F, and temperatures at the pass run cooler. Winters are cold, with January highs averaging about 28°F. Several other spots are close by. Dumont Lake Campground and Dumont Campground are both within about a mile and a half, and the Muddy Creek climbing area is about 1.5 miles away. The Routt Divide hike lies roughly 4 miles off.
