Horseshoe Campground is a first-come, first-served Forest Service campground in the Sulphur Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests in Colorado. It sits along the Williams Fork River, about 15 miles from the town of Fraser. The site has seven non-electric campsites that work for tents, trailers and RVs. Each has a tent pad, fire grate and picnic table. Restrooms and trash service are on site, and vault toilets are the standard. Most campsites lack shade because trees were removed due to the mountain pine beetle epidemic. Drinking water is not available, so bring your own. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Fraser weather station show July highs around 77°F with lows near 38°F, while winter highs stay around 31°F. Several trails start close by, including the No-See-Um Trail about half a mile away and Williams Peak at 0.7 miles. The Equinox Gardens climbing area is about a mile off, and the Williams Fork offers canoeing roughly 2 miles away.
