Gore Creek Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Holy Cross Ranger District of Colorado's White River National Forest, about 4.3 miles from the Vail weather station. The land is managed by the Forest Service, and the site has vault toilets. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the Vail weather station, which sits about 400 feet lower than the campground, show July highs around 77°F with lows near 42°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. The Vail - Frisco Rec Path and Deluge Lake are both about 0.1 mile away. Bighorn is a hike 1.4 miles off, and Pitkin is a lake fishing spot 1.9 miles away.
