Nap Wall Area is a climbing area in California's Eldorado National Forest, within the Pacific Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area sits among several other climbing spots, with Crystal Wall Area and October Wall each about 0.1 mile away. The climbing here is a mix of trad and sport routes, with 11 routes in total. The grades run from 5.5 to 5.10c, and the median is 5.8. Among the routes are Holloween Trick (5.5, trad), Under My Skin (5.7+, sport) and YAP (5.10c, trad), all of which were first ascended by climbers including Ney and Betsy Grant in 2015. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Tahoma weather station, which sits about 750 feet lower than the area, show July highs around 77°F with lows near 46°F, while winter highs stay in the upper 30s. Paddlers can find Big Silver Creek about a mile away and Jones Fork Silver Creek at roughly 1.4 miles. Bassi Falls, a hike about 2.8 miles off, and the Van Vleck Bunkhouse, a campground at about 3.8 miles, round out the nearby options.
