Kamikaze Cave is a sport climbing area in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area in California, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with The Alcove, Treasure Towers and Test Site all about 0.1 mile away. The cave's name is a natural fit for the grade range of the routes here, which run from 5.12b up to 5.14a. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show April highs around 78°F and October highs around 85°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. That station sits well below the cave, so temperatures at the crag run cooler. The routes here are all sport, and the hardest is Kamikaze at 5.14a, first climbed by Louie Anderson in 1996. Other routes include Crash and Burn at 5.12d and Cosmopolitan at 5.13d. For a walk, the Mishe Mokwa Trail is about 0.4 mile away, and Circle X Ranch Group Campground is about 1.3 miles off.
