Bliss is a climbing area in D.L. Bliss State Park on the California side of Lake Tahoe, within the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. The state park is managed by State Park and Recreation, and the climbing area sits just 0.2 miles from the Middle Bliss and Lumberjack climbing areas, which makes this corner of the park a natural base for a day of bouldering or sport climbing. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Tahoma weather station put July highs around 77°F with lows near 46°F, and the station sits a few hundred feet below the park, so temperatures on the cliffs run slightly cooler. For more time outdoors, Lighthouse Trail and the Rubicon Trail both lie about a mile away. Bayview Campground is roughly 2.7 miles off for an overnight stay, and Meeks Bay Campground is about 3.7 miles away.
