Billy Land is a climbing area in California's Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, managed by the Forest Service. It sits close to two other climbing areas, Gangsta Wall and Old Peculiar, both about 0.1 mile away, so the three make a natural cluster for a day of trad climbing. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical July averages from the nearby Dagget Pass weather station run around 75°F for highs and 49°F for lows, with only about two wet days a month. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the area, so temperatures up high may run slightly cooler. The climbing here is all trad, and the grades range from 5.6 on Hit and Run to 5.11b on Run and Gun. Saucer Lake Trail is about 0.4 mile away for a hike, and the Upper Truckee River offers paddling roughly 3.4 miles off.
