Lost In Space is a bouldering area in California's Desolation Wilderness, within the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit of the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing and hiking destinations, with Eagle Creek Canyon and the 90 Foot Wall just 0.1 mile away. The climbing here is all bouldering, with seven routes spread across the V1 to V9 range. The easiest is Men in Black at V1, and the hardest is Pecan Pie Low at V9. Gerbler, at V8, was first climbed by David Outcalt with a low start by Kiel. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in South Lake Tahoe show July and August highs around 80°F with lows near 40°F and only about two wet days a month. That station sits about 500 feet below the area, so temperatures at the boulders run slightly cooler. Close by, the Eagle Falls Vista and the Eagle Falls Trail are each about 0.3 mile away. Bayview Campground is about 1.1 mile off, and Fallen Leaf Campground is about 4.2 miles away.
