Trout Creek is an out-and-back hike in the Kern River Ranger District of Sequoia National Forest in California. The route rises from about 7,000 feet to over 8,000 feet, with a total elevation gain of 1,190 feet on an 8.2-mile round trip. It is a hard hike, and the trail is natural-surfaced with no accessible route, so plan for a full day on foot. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is open year-round. Bikes and horses are allowed, so the route works for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. The Boone Meadow Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Sherman Pass Trail and Paloma Meadow are within about a mile and a half. For an overnight stay, Horse Meadow Campground and Troy Meadow Campground sit about 7 miles off.
