Bald Mountain is a short, easy hike in the Kern River Ranger District of Sequoia National Forest in California, about half a mile from the trailhead. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is an out-and-back that gains about 134 feet in elevation over roughly half a mile, from a low point of about 9,200 feet to a high of about 9,359 feet. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows bikes. It is not an accessible trail, so plan for a walk or ride on foot or two wheels rather than a wheelchair. For more time on foot, Mahogany Creek Trail lies about 0.8 miles away, and Woodpecker and Rattlesnake Creek are each about 1.5 miles off. Troy Meadow Campground, about 3.3 miles away, offers a place to stay.
