Rincon is a 2-mile out-and-back hike in the Kern River Ranger District of Sequoia National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises about 750 feet from a low point of roughly 3,669 feet to a high of about 4,436 feet. The route is rated easy and is natural-surface, with horses allowed. Bikes are not. It is not an accessible trail. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Glennville weather station show May highs around 72°F and October highs around 73°F, while July and August average highs near 89°F. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the route run cooler. Goldledge Campground is about 1.4 miles away, and Spring Hill North Dispersed Camping and Chamisa Flats Dispersed Camping Area are both about 2 miles off. Flynn Canyon, another hike, is about 2.9 miles away.
