Ram Lake is an easy out-and-back hike of about 1.4 miles in California's John Muir Wilderness, within the Mammoth Ranger District of Inyo National Forest. The trail gains about 330 feet from its low point at 10,412 feet to its high point at 10,762 feet, and it is open year-round. The trail is on natural surface, and it is not accessible. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. The land is managed by the Forest Service. Ram Lake sits among several other destinations in the area. Purple Lake is about 1.4 miles away and Pika Lake about 1.6 miles. Climbers can head to Convict Lake & McGee Creek, roughly 3.1 miles off. For an overnight stay, Coldwater Campground is about 5 miles away.
