Poison Canyon is a hard hike in the Weaverville Ranger District of Shasta-Trinity National Forest in northern California, about 12.5 miles long with a one-way elevation gain of 3,345 feet. The trail rises from a low point of about 4,345 feet to a high of about 7,590 feet, and it is an out-and-back route. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. The hike is open year-round, and the surrounding area offers several other destinations within a few miles. Lilypad Lake and Deer Flat are both about 2 miles away, and Little Boulder Lake is about 2.5 miles off. For an overnight stay, Goldfield Campground is about 4.7 miles away.
