Frazier is a moderate out-and-back hike in California's Sierra National Forest, within the High Sierra Ranger District. The trail is 4.9 miles long, with an elevation gain of 87 feet, and it runs on natural surface. It is not an accessible trail. The hike climbs from a low point of about 8,180 feet to a high of about 8,243 feet, making it a short walk with little change in elevation. It lies in a cluster of hiking, climbing and camping spots, with Voyager Rock campground just 0.4 miles away. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July and August highs reach about 74°F with lows near 49°F, based on averages from a nearby weather station at Huntington Lake. That station sits roughly 1,200 feet below the trail, so temperatures on the hike run cooler. The trail is open year-round. Nearby options include Spring Dome, a climbing area about 1.2 miles away, and Blackcap Trail, a hike about 1.3 miles off. Helms Creek, a paddling spot, is about 2.4 miles away, and Buck Meadow campground is about 8.5 miles away.
