Disaster Creek is a hard hike in the Summit Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest in California, on land managed by the Forest Service. The route is an out-and-back that gains about 2,150 feet over roughly 14 miles, carrying you from a low point near 6,450 feet to a high point of about 8,570 feet. The trail is a natural-surface route, and it is open to horses. Bikes are not allowed. Clark Fork is the closest nearby route, just 0.1 mile away, and Clark Fork Campground is about 2 miles off. Sand Flat and Eureka Valley campgrounds are also within a few miles, making it easy to base a longer trip around this area.
