The 6N06 Snow Trail is a hard out-and-back hike in the Summit Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. The route starts at about 5,527 feet and climbs to a high point of 7,210 feet, with a total elevation gain of 2,684 feet over the round trip. The steepest stretch comes at about 4 miles in, where the grade reaches 19 percent. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically June through September, when typical averages from the nearby Bridgeport weather station run from highs around 77°F in June to about 78°F in September, with lows in the upper 30s. That station sits roughly 740 feet below the trail's high point, so temperatures on the summit run cooler. The hike takes about 5.5 hours to complete. Fence Creek campground is just 0.2 miles away, and Boulder Flat campground is 0.8 miles off. Within a few miles are the 6N75Y Snow Trail and the Middle Fork Stanislaus River, a canoeing route.
