Cone Hill is an easy, out-and-back hike of about 1.3 miles in the Calaveras Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest in California. The trail rises about 246 feet from a low point of 2,123 feet to a high of 2,413 feet, and it is open year-round. The route is natural-surfaced and allows both horses and bikes, so it works for riders and equestrians as well as hikers. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail sits within the Calaveras Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sonora show May and October highs around 76°F with lows in the mid-40s, while July and August average highs in the low 90s. Oxidine West is about 0.8 miles away, and the Highway 4 Corridor fishing area is about 2.2 miles off. Rattlesnake and Oxidine East are both about 2.5 miles away.
