Mosquito Lakes is a Forest Service campground in the Calaveras Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest in California. It sits among a cluster of trails and other campgrounds, making it a convenient base for exploring the surrounding area. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. At Dagget Pass, a nearby weather station about 31 miles away, typical July and August highs run around 75°F with lows near 49°F, and those months see only about one or two wet days. Winters there are cold, with typical January highs around 36°F and lows near 23°F. The campground has vault toilets, and a fee is charged for stays. Two hikes start right next to it: Heiser Lake and Mosquito Lakes to Stanislaus Meadow, both about 0.1 mile away. Pacific Valley campground is 0.7 mile off, and Hermit Valley is 1.8 miles away.
