The Library is a climbing area in the Payson Ranger District of Tonto National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits right beside the East Verde climbing area, about 0.2 miles away. The area has 23 routes, split evenly between sport and trad climbing, with one mixed route. The grades run from 5.6 up to 5.12a. Among the routes are Rough Rider, a trad 5.6, and Tail Eater, a sport 5.11b/c, and the hardest route is Impossible Dream at 5.12a. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 79°F and October highs around 74°F, while July peaks near 91°F. Houston Mesa Campground and Houston Mesa Group are both within about 3 miles. Pats Trail is roughly 3.7 miles away, and the East Verde River is about 4.3 miles away.
