Glitter Box Area is a climbing area in Arizona on county land within a proposed open space unit. It sits among a cluster of climbing areas, with Lower Devil's Canyon and the Totem-Proto Area each about 0.1 mile away and The Coop about 0.2 mile off. The area is managed by county land and is part of a larger network of climbing spots in the region. The climbing here is a mix of styles, with 14 sport routes, 7 mixed routes, 5 trad routes and one top-rope route. Grades run from 5.6 up to 5.11c, with the median around 5.10a. Some of the named routes include Tar Baby (5.6, trad), Changes in Attitude (5.10b, sport) and Ojos del Diablo (5.11c, sport). Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Superior weather station show April highs around 78°F and October highs around 84°F, while July highs reach about 99°F. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet lower than the area, so temperatures on the rock run cooler. Oak Flat campground is about 2.5 miles away, and the Legends of Superior Trail is about 3.7 miles off.
