The Down Under climbing area sits in the Santa Catalina Ranger District of Coronado National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It is a cluster of climbing spots rather than a single route, and it sits among several other named climbing areas and trails within a short distance. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show March highs around 74°F and November highs around 75°F, while June and July average about 100°F. Sahuaro Corners, La Milagrosa Canyon and Oasis are all climbing areas about 0.1 mile away. The Milagrosa hike starts about 0.2 mile off. For an overnight stay, Molino Basin Group campground is about 2.5 miles away.
