Crown Butte is a climbing area in the Munds Mountain Wilderness, part of the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area sits within designated wilderness. The climbing here is a mix of trad and sport routes, with the sport route The Joystick at 5.7 and the trad routes Blood Money at 5.10- and Spiritual Surgery at 5.11+. The grades run from 5.7 up to 5.11+, with most around 5.10. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Oak Creek Canyon weather station show May highs around 78°F and October highs around 74°F, while July and August average about 90°F. Gibraltar Rock Area is just 0.3 miles away, and Church Spires Area is 0.5 miles off.
