Crossbones Boulder

Crossbones Boulder is a bouldering area in the Santa Catalina Ranger District of Coronado National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing areas, with Quartzite Spring Boulder and Booker's Dome both about 0.1 mile away. The bouldering here is all on the same rock, with five routes spread across a range of grades from V1+ to V7-8. The hardest is the route named Crossbones, which sits at V7-8, and the easiest is Warmup at V1+. The other routes are Cover Girl and East Face at V3, and Bones at V5-6. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mt Lemmon Willow Canyon show May highs around 71°F and October highs around 68°F, while winter highs sit near 50°F. That station sits about 1,600 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures on the rock run cooler.
